Dealing With Anxiety

Dealing with Anxiety

Do you find yourself worrying excessively and being anxious?  We each experience bouts of anxiousness, and often it can significantly affect our daily lives.   Learning how to deal with anxiety is a part of the human experience.  Dealing with Anxiety” – do I simply want to manage my anxiety, or does my heart cry for a deeper answer?

A Few Physical Symptoms of Anxiety

When you are anxious do you find your heart pounding, your breathing growing faster or more difficult, maybe your shoulders or neck muscles tighten into knots?  Do you feel light-headed, unable to concentrate, or nervous?  Are you tossing and turning at night, and do you find it is simply impossible to relax?

Anxiety and Fear is Always About the Future

Being anxious and fearful is always about looking ahead, looking to the future.   It is never about looking backwards; we already know the results of the past.  It is the future that causes us to be anxious and even fearful.  You may fear events you know are coming soon.

Think logically about what your mind is doing.  You are attempting to predict the future as if you had God’s foresight.  You are trying to solve perceived problems in your life that may not even be problems!  Being anxious can be so consuming and unproductive, which is not how you desire to live life.

What Others May Suggest

Try laughing and smiling – laughter is the best medicine

Clear your mind – you can stop your anxiousness on your own

Visualization – using the power of your mind

Exercise – it will increase your sense of well being

Relax – use yoga or meditation

Food – a proper diet will enable your body to relax

Music – soothing to the soul

Don’t be alone – being around other people will reduce your anxiousness

Some of these techniques may work for a short period of time and are important parts of our lives in and of themselves.  I enjoy music and I do not really enjoy being alone, yet as an answer to anxiety I found these techniques to be lacking.  They did not remedy the root cause of my anxiousness.  They certainly did not allow me to live a life beyond my expectations and free from worry.

My Journey

A dear friend wrote in a recent email: “You have been through so much and have so many dramatic chapters in your life!”  Those chapters of my life were painful and often came with worry, anxiousness, and fear of what was to come.  Yet God provided a breakthrough that I have come to realize is available to each of us.

Can I Break Through?

Can I break through to a different life?  Can I move beyond simply dealing with anxiety to actually addressing the root issues?  The answer in my own life was a resounding yes!  We each worry and are anxious and fearful at times, but it does not have to be that way.

It is thrilling to watch God change lives; I have witnessed it in my life and in the lives of others.  He desires for you to live an abundant life – one of transformation and power.  It is amazing how many people live this life failing to recognize the power of a transformed life through God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.  If you have accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior then they live in you and their power lives in you.  Be sure to take advantage of our free offer
