How to Deal With Stress
To be stressed is the absence of peace. Peace is simply a state of mental calm and serenity, with no anxiety. Peace is our assurance that in the middle of very difficult times, all is well. It appears today, that stress versus peace is more the order of the day. As witnessed in our daily lives and not only in our personal life but also by those who live around us.
We live in a world that is rife with stress and anxiety. In America alone according to the MIDC, the number of Americans who experience anxiety and panic attacks are over one million each and every month. and the numbers are increasing.
What is going on? Life is stressful and every day is becoming even more stressful. Think about the world economy and the number of people who are looking for employment. Many families are hurting, husband and wives are ignoring their marriage vows. For many their lives are void of peace and it is taking the toll on them and their families.
Simply learning to deal with the stress in our lives appears to be completely inadequate. Still, we continue to try and calm our hearts. Giving up for most of us, sadly not for all of us, is not an option we are willing to consider.
There are answers, ones that many ignore, which will lead us to a life of peace. What is that answer? It is God’s Word. It contains within its pages God’s promise to each of us and many of His promise deals with living a life of joy, peace and abundance.
God’s Word, the Bible, shows us how to obtain peace in our lives. Peace is not obtained by using the many techniques we have crafted, it is not by the often prescribed drugs or the thousands of self-help books that are published. It is our relationship with God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit that will lead us to a life of peace, God is simply the how to deal with stress answer in our lives. Your Heavenly Father loves you and you are His loved child. He promise through His Word to provide for you, He sent His son to die for you and He sent the Holy Spirit to live in you. There is nothing He has not provided for you to live an abundant life, one devoid of stress and anxiety.
Once you begin to take Him at his word, to provide for you, to care for you and to protect you, you will begin to experience the peace He promised.
John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be afraid.”
If we will trust our Heavenly Father and begin to walk with Him there is nothing that can come between us and His promises. Surrendering to God, allowing Jesus to be the Lord of your life and living through the power of the Holy Spirit always leads to an absences of stress in your life and leads to a life lived in peace.
